Financial Aid Opportunities

There are several options for financial aid to obtain your CDL. Many of our students are happy to find out that they qualify for one or more programs that reduce or eliminate the cost of tuition entirely. The most common sources for financial aid for CDL training are listed below:

Trucking Companies

Many of the top trucking companies provide not only sign-on bonuses to new hires, but tuition reimbursement as well. Once hired, you will receive the full cost of your tuition as a payment from the company.

The various trucking companies handle the payments differently, and the companies which offer these programs may vary from year to year. Our Admissions Director will provide you with the latest information on which trucking companies are offering tuition reimbursements and the steps you need to take in order to qualify.

Government Programs

There are multiple state and federal government programs designed to provide assistance for individuals looking to move into a new career. These are just a few of the sources that may be able to help:

  • WorkSource – provides training reimbursement and assistance
  • Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) – helps workers displaced because of foreign competition – via trade or outsourcing; provides financial assistance for job training and certifications
  • Workforce Investment Act (WIA) – designed to improve the quality of the workforce, and may provide training assistance
  • VA – provides financial aid and training reimbursement for veterans transitioning into civilian life

With so many options for financial assistance, transitioning into a new career as a commercial truck driver is more affordable than you might have thought.
